Helmets are all individually handcrafted leather, so your helm may not look exactly like the photograph on the website. Helmets are only made to order, none are available "off the rack", so please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Delivery times on helms with horns or antlers may depend on materials availability, please inquire. Rush orders (guaranteed to ship within two weeks) are available for a rush charge of 50% of the helm price, payable in advance. Overnight UPS and Federal Express shipments are available at an additional charge, write or call for more information.
Helmets are generally constructed of 5 to 7 ounce cowhide, often with several pieces laminated together. They are strong and durable, and under normal wearing conditions, should hold up quite well. These helmets are not, however, intended to be protective - they are for show and display only. Motorcyclists, SCA members, or others who desire decorative helmets built on a protective base should write for quotation.

Include credit card information, or a check or money order for the price of the helm, plus 10% of total for shipping & handling. Make checks payable to "Shapeshifter Masks". Rhode Island residents please add 8% sales tax.
I'm more than happy to ship internationally, but please be advised that this can be extremely expensive. The helmets are not generally terribly heavy, but international shippers charge by dimension as well as weight. In many cases, international shipping is nearly half the price of the helmet itself. Please write for specific shipping prices.

Sizing & Measurements:
Your helmet will be custom made to fit you, so I'll need measurements. Since it's always possible that someday you might decide to shave your head (or grow your hair back), which could effect the fit, or you might want to loan the helmet to someone else, the helmets all have an adjustable headband inside. The headband is measured and set so that the middle setting will fit you perfectly, and it can be expanded or reduced in size slightly from there.
Taking your own measurements for a custom made helmet or headdress is not a difficult or complicated process, really. Remember when you were a kid, and your parents stood you against a door frame, and marked the frame to measure how tall you were? That's the best way to take these first measurements. You don't have to mark up your own door frame, though, you can tape a piece of paper to it and mark that to take these measurements...
Take each of these measurements from the top of the head to:
1. The shoulder bone.
2. Angle of the neck
3. Bottom of the chin
4. Center of the eyeline
||Next, wrap a tape measure around your head about where a hat would sit, or where you would wear a headband. Write down this measurement.
Finally, look straight ahead while a friend holds a ruler up in front of your eyes, and have them take the measurement between the centers of your pupils.
(These measurement instructions are also included in the Helm Order Form PDF).
That's it, really... send us these six simple measurements, and we will be able to construct a helmet or headdress that will fit well, and be comfortable & secure.
